Supreme Court liars

I am a 75-year-old woman with no womb. So, the decision to overturn Roe v Wade doesn’t really affect me. I am past those years. But there are two issues that really need to be brought out a lot more strongly. For starts, do people honestly think that this will end abortions? You know, the way making it illegal ended drinking alcohol in the 1920s or making pot illegal stopped people from using it.

This is the point that I have always gotten stuck on when discussion the topic of abortion. It’s going to happen. It’s always happened. You can go back in history and find all kinds of methods suggested for women who find themselves unhappily pregnant and wishing to end the pregnancy.

The question that we really need to ask those people who are against legal abortion is what they are for that will help alleviate the issue. Are the anti-abortionists in favor of free reproductive health care for all women so they can avoid unwanted pregnancies? Or do they think that women will send their wombs and urges back underground and be virgins until marriage?

And then, of course, there is the pressing issue of the children born to women who, for whatever reason, did not want a child. Are we upping the financial support that governments give to women who can’t afford to feed another child? Will those who opposed abortion be willing to adopt one of these children? Or is the general assumption that once their birth is assured, abortion opponents can just walk away satisfied that they’d achieved the only goal they had and to hell with the consequences?

Having said that, let me also say that I am shocked that no one is outraged at the other real problem here. We have judges on the Supreme Court of this land who lied to get the job. They all stated in testimony in front of the U.S. Senate that legal abortion was a settled issue by law and they would do nothing to change it. And then the first chance they got, they did.

If you were applying for a job and lied on your resume and during your interview, once the lies surfaced that would be grounds for dismissal in most occupations. But apparently if you are a Supreme Court justice, you can lie your teeth off during the job interview and still face no consequences on the job. So basically, a lot of liars are defining what is legal in this country for a lot of people who have a right to wonder what the judges’ morality is. Lie to a police officer and you risk going to jail. Lie to the US Senate and you get a lifetime job with great perks and no chance of being fired for something as simple as lying during the job interview.

If you don’t approve of abortion, don’t have one. If you don’t approve of pot, don’t use it. If alcohol is sinful in your world, don’t drink it. That should be the joy of living in America. You don’t like it, don’t do it. But don’t stop others from doing it. And just as important, if you lie to get a job, once the lie has been exposed, you should be fired. No one with that level of morality should ever be judging the rest of us. That right was lost with the first lie told under oath.

When I was growing up, the Supreme Court was the most dignified and respected institution in America. Now it’s just another group of political hacks lying their way to the top in order to impose their warped morality on the rest of us. This is not just about Roe v Wade. This is about the liars sitting on the Supreme Court who should be booted off. I will happily provide the boot.

You got that right. Also same age, same situation. Where in heck is our country going? I remember the days of the coat hanger abortions, infections and women bleeding to death. Why in god’s name would we want to return to putting women in that situation?
