First day at the pool

Their first day at the pool begins with hugs of reassurance that no one will ever leave them alone to sink or swim. It is followed by a discussion among the affected parties as to how much they will poop in mom’s bed that night to show their appreciation for this interesting experience.

I rediscover that wonder in the eyes of the children who come to events like Owl-O-Ween and hand Kodi, our Northwestern Crow, a dollar bill that he then deposits in his cache jar. It is always an amazing experience.
