Needed – salmon and red meat
As you start emptying your freezers in anticipation of the coming fishing and hunting season, please keep Bird TLC in mind for any old salmon or meat you have. We accept almost all donations. Only no-nos are processed fish or meat and halibut. There’s a box in front of the door where you can drop the stuff off if it’s after hours. It’s only March 8 and we’ve already had 22 eagles admitted for care. So we need all the donations we can get. Those eagles sure get hungry when they’re healing!

The look of pure innocence
I finished scrubbing out birdcages and fed the birds. The dogs were downstairs in the office with the door closed. It’s just easier to not have two dogs and three parrots trying to get at each other during bath time so the dogs get on their bed in the office with a treat and are happy. Before I came down to let them out, I cut up their hotdog for dinner and put half in each day as is our routine. Then I came downstairs and opened the office door and got on the computer and forgot about the dogs.

Nick and the swan
When Nick first started volunteering at Bird TLC, most of the birds aside from redpolls were bigger than he was. But he was brave and hung in there. Now he holds swans. Touching something this wild and beautiful is like touching a piece of god. IT’s Nick’s reward for all those years when the eagles outweighed him but he never gave up.
