… don’t be insulted by the raised middle finger. It’s just her way of celebrating her birthday. Happy Birthday, little sis.  If Paul McCartney knew what was good for him, he would have snatched you up years ago.

This is the “baby” sandhill crane that came to Bird TLC this summer after finding out that no matter how big he thought he was, the dog was bigger. When he arrived, he fit in a little basket. Then he grew and grew and grew. Now he’s at the flight pens learning to be a crane so he can be released with a flock and learn how to migrate and someday have a family of his own. Until then, though, the volunteers at Bird TLC are still making sure he has all the superworms he needs to continue to grow…

Here’s little Joe at six months. Do they get any cuter? (And in case there is any doubt in your mind, the answer to that question is no.)

Happy birthday to one of the most beautiful little boys on this planet. You’ve reached two years old. How great is that?!!!

The current Yukon River flooding at Eagle and the neighboring Native community of Eagle Village is now being characterized at the worst flooding ever at that location. The red line on this picture shows how high the flood waters reached.

Buildings have been washed away, some residents have lost everything, and a big chunk of Alaskan history has been damaged.  Evert’s Air Cargo in Fairbanks has offered to fly in supplies, but the road between the airport and town is still flooded.  And now, Anchorage volunteers have stepped in to help.

Eagle area residents are now in need of clothing
