It’s hard to know where to begin

But let’s start with the fact that every morning when I get up, I pour my coffee and go to the news app on my iPad to see if the POS currently sullying the White House has started a nuclear war. In that case, I might as well just go back to bed and eat chocolate. Once I’ve ascertained we will still be around long enough for me to take a shower, I look at the other news and suddenly I want to go back to bed and just eat chocolate until I die anyway.

Today’s news was particularly disheartening. Apparently, a school district in Pennsylvania has mandated that each classroom have a bucket full of rocks in case a shooter gets in. The children and teachers are being told to pelt him with rocks. Yep. Rocks vs assault weapons – what could possibly go wrong? In response to this creative way of keeping the kids alive until mom picks them up after school, another Pennsylvania school district has supplied each teacher with a mini baseball bat. I’m assuming they expect the teacher to use the bat the way Wonder Woman uses her bracelets to ward off bullets.

Given that so much discussion concerning school safety seems to be how to arm staff and make the campus impregnable, I must once again suggest that we simply move the prisoners out of prison and the kids in. I mean, why re-invent the wheel? We already have impregnable facilities with alarms, guards, cafeterias, gyms, chapels and metal detectors.

I can’t imagine what it’s like to be a kid in school in this day and age. I never imagined I was anything but safe at my school. When my parents sent me off in the morning, they had no worries that they may never see me alive again. I mean, for god’s sake, I was going to high school, not war.

But those days have ended. We have chosen to become an armed camp with our children taught behind iron bars and surrounded by guards rather than take a simple look at the 2nd Amendment, what it really means in today’s society and whether assault rifles and missile launchers are what the Founding Fathers meant by a well regulated militia.

Seems to me that it won’t be so long before we won’t have to worry about illegal immigration because no one in their right mind would want to come here.
