Once more a dysfunctional legislature does us in
Will they or won’t they? No, this is not about whether the Palin’s are running. This is about whether the Alaska Legislature will spend even more of our money to meet yet again on a issue they couldn’t resolve during their regular session. They couldn’t resolve it during their first special session either. Now they’ve apparently decided to hold off a second special session until they have some indication of consensus on the matter.
At issue is a bill relating to our coastal zone management. It is of great importance to those towns and villages that have development happening in
That’s a big, big bear!

Joey’s first trip to the zoo produced laughter, smiles, a lot of running and a momentary doubt about whether that baby polar bear was as friendly as he looked.
If there was any doubt left
If there was any doubt left that John McCain is well into aging senility, it should have been totally wiped out by his pronouncement that Sarah Palin could beat Obama in 2012. Has he finally taken a taste of the purple acid?
It was all the fault of Catholic school
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. My lack of wardrobe is due to Catholic school. I also blame my total lack of clothing sense there. I grew up wearing a blue serge jumper and a white blouse with saddle shoes and a tastefully placed emblem that read “SMS” over my left (at that time none existent) breast. Each year when school began, the only wardrobe shopping we had to do was possibly for a new blouse if one of the two I had from the previous year did not fit or had finally worn through. Or possibly
One of those mornings
It was one of those mornings when I couldn’t even rip off the toilet paper without unrolling half the roll from the spindle. No matter which way I pulled, it wouldn’t rip. I finally took it in two hands, tore off what I needed and then sat there re-rolling the excess.
Pray the rest of the day does not live up to the expectation caused by its beginning.
She may not smell it, but she knows it when she sees it
Blondie was out walking with the love of her life, Karie, and all Karie’s other dogs. She goes out with a dog walker twice a week as a lesson in socialization. Since Blue died, she tends to think she’s the only dog left in the world and she was starting to like that way too much.
So there they all are, noses to the ground, walking in a pack in front of Karie, right up until they almost walked into the bear. Apparently not one of the dogs smelled it. Which makes you wonder what they were doing with their
Digeridoo… or something like that

This is but a factual representation, not a fact
Remember a while back when Arizona senator Jon Kyl stood on the floor of the Senate and announced that 90% of Planned Parenthood’s services were abortion related? When his office was contacted by reporters who pointed out that in reality only about 3% of Planned Parenthood’s services go towards any type of abortion assistance, the senator’s office responded thusly, “The senator’s remark was not intended to be a factual statement but rather to illustrate that Planned Parenthood, an organization that receives millions in taxpayer dollars, does subsidize abortions…”
Get it, kids? He was just making a point. And since reality
Baby birds
It’s baby bird season at Bird TLC. All the little orphans come in to be cared for until they are released. If you want your teenager to think twice about the consequences of premarital sex, have them come in and adopt some baby birds to care for until they are old enough to leave the nest. Five screaming little open mouths demanding food every hour and totally dependent on their caregiver to survive.
Yep, it’s a life’s lesson that is extremely valuable for all to learn.
