If I wasn’t already infamous for hating to answer a ringing phone, the holiday season would put me over the top. 90% of the calls I get on any given day during December are for donations to charities. And it seems as though 90% of those charities are from Peace Officers, Police, State Troopers or some affiliation of such. It is simply overwhelming. Why can’t all these separate groups come together and form what would have to be a much more efficient charity. I am VERY happy that there are men and women willing to take on such dangerous jobs. But I can’t believe those organizations can’t pull it together so that I only get one or two calls for donations instead of the constant stream of calls all year that end in the waterfall of requests in December.
So don’t bother calling me for anything the rest of the month. Send an e-mail and then I’ll call you. Because I won’t be answering my phone AT ALL.
