you are talking to a company representative who tells you the company will mail you the form you need and you ask why they are wasting a 13 cent stamp rather than faxing it to you.

Note to self… stamps are no longer 13 cents and most forms can be e-mailed to you as attachments.

Lions and tigers and eggs, oh my

Put seven eggs in a pan of water to boil them so I’d have a week’s worth of boiled eggs for Kodi, the northwestern crow (and Bird TLC education bird) who lives with me in the spring, summer, fall. Promptly forgot about them when I came downstairs to check mail and do some laundry. Childhood friend Grace is visiting. As she sat in the living room reading, she heard popping sounds. Just checking to make sure you’re legitimate

Before delving into the deeper issue of profiling that is occurring with greater and greater frequency throughout America, let me be selfish for a moment and see how the recent Zimmerman acquittal might affect me personally. Based on what happened in Florida, if I’m walking down the street breaking no law and am followed and then accosted by someone who gets physically violent with me and ends up killing me, that person may, with a totally straight face, claim self-defense. Wow. Even for the birthplace of the hanging chad, that’s quite a breathtaking perversion of common sense.
