I don’t want to scare anyone but…

I accidentally watched a tv show that wasn’t dvr’d and somewhere around the fourth political ad in a five minute commercial break my ears started to bleed. I’m no longer sure I can survive until the August primaries, let alone the fall general election.

Please god, make it stop.

Baby bird season approaches

Baby bird season is almost upon us. That means a busy, busy time at Bird TLC. It also means that anyone who would like to learn how to be a baby bird mom and have the thrill of raising a baby to adulthood and freedom should check the Bird TLC webside (birdtlc.net) for the dates of the baby bird mom training. And lord if you have any newspapers, please drop them off for us. We go through them at rapid rates this time of year. Our new address is 7800 King Street.

Children are our future… a convenient phrase for politicians

For those of us brave or insane enough to follow the shenanigans of the Alaska Legislature, the end of session comes as quite a relief. This is especially true in those years where no one tries to circumvent the will of the voters for a limited session by calling a special session. Of course, our legislators still manage to go over the time allotted by extending the current session. Why pay attention to the will of the voters now? Why start a new tradition when the old one is so effective – just ignore what the voters want and do
