Last week was a very busy week for me socially. I know this because when I did the wash today I had three pair of black pants and one pair of blue pants in the mix. That, I came to realize as I gazed into my closet, was pretty much my entire wardrobe. If I’d been invited to one more thing I would have been forced to either decline from lack of clothing or do wash on a day not a Saturday. I would have probably declined based on wardrobe malfunction.
I just can shake the feeling
No matter how much I try, whenever I see a picture of Paul Ryan I can’t shake a creepy feeling that he’s not someone I’d want to be left alone with.
Let winter come
My flannel sheets are on the bed. Let winter begin.
Come see an eagle released

Bird TLC has two eagles that are now ready for release, and they’d like to get them out before winter.
Please join us this Sunday, October 14th at 1 pm at the Bird TLC property to see these birds fly free!
(Our property is on Old Seward above Potter’s Marsh right past the Orthodox Church)
We’ll be having a raffle for the chance to release one of these birds back to the wild!
The raffle tickets will be $10 and can be purchased at the property for one hour prior to the release (cash or credit card accepted).

Some champagne to go with the strawberries, please

Ah life is good. A cool bath on a warm day. A meadow all my own. Trees to pee on. Birds to chase. And humans to wait on me hand and foot.
Ah………

Libraries are still very relevant
I’ve written before about libraries and the part they played in my childhood. I figured that role no longer existed because of the huge amount of media access now available from birth through death. Why go to a library when you have the world at your fingertips? I watch my friend’s three-year-old grandson manipulating her cell phone and iPad and think that books and libraries will soon be a thing of the past.
Since I grew up in a family without a lot of disposable income, a library was critical to my insatiable reading habit. I can’t remember not having
Cousins

You start out side by side in cribs and your friendship lasts a lifetime. How wonderful.

Another cornerstone of civilization crumbles
According to a horrifying news story, Facebook is going to start a gift service. Not only can you send gifts to friends from Facebook, but they can “unwrap” them online and if they don’t like them, exchange them for something else.
First of all, nothing says love and friendship more than a gift that can be exchanged before it’s actually received. Shows your friends really know your likes and dislikes.
Secondly, your world is about to be inundated with Facebook gifts that will multiply like rabbits in you home… and they will all mostly look alike.
Thirdly, and I can’t
